We strive to offer personalized, educational, unique and high quality wilderness experiences to a limited number of guests, while minimizing our impact on the environment and our
interraction with wildlife.
Amaruk Wilderness Corp. is federally incorporated in Canada. It is licensed, as required, by federal, provincial and territorial authorities.
Amaruk is a member of the Yukon Wilderness Tourism Association, the Tourism Industry Association of the Yukon, and the Northern BC Tourism Association.
Amaruk Wilderness Instructors have up to 20 years of guiding and instructing experience in Canada, as well as various other countries. They are members of Emergency First Response, the Professional Association of Diving Instructors, the Canadian Owners and Pilots Association, the American College of Sport Medicine as well as the North America Nature Photography Association.
Amaruk is proud to hold an excellent safety record. For your safety, a satellite phone as well as an EPIRB (Emergency Position-Indicating Radio Beacon) are carried on all expeditions. A firearm is also carried by the Wilderness Instructors for any expeditions occuring in the arctic for protection against polar bears. Finally, we use the best equipment, provided by Mountain Hardwear.
We strictly abide by "Leave No Trace" as well as Eco-tourism practices, and we dedicate 10% of our profits to environment and
wildlife protection.
Amaruk offers services in Canada's official languages: English and French.
Amaruk holds liability insurance in the amount of $2,000,000.
